Live Events in a Post-Pandemic World

After nearly 6 months of no live events due to a global coronavirus pandemic, travel restrictions are being lifted and hotels across the nation are beginning to re-open. Specifically, in Florida, we see large functions beginning to emerge. This is hopefully signaling an end to an incredibly long hiatus for the event industry. At Sublime Event Designs, we have been greatly impacted by the toll of a national economic lockdown. However, we have dutifully watched trends and recommendations from local and government health officials. Our goal is to ensure the safety and compliance of our clients and their guests when we are issued the green light. Here are some precautions we will be taking in Orlando to adapt to live events in a post-pandemic world.

Orlando: a Live Event Hot Spot

As one of the hottest destinations for larger corporate events and functions, we are lucky to call Orlando, Florida home. Visit Orlando has teamed up with the Orange County Convention Center and select medical professionals at Orlando Health to employ a new medical concierge program. This programming provides medical experts and resources to all groups who hold events at the Convention Center in 2020. The Orange County Convention Center recently received the GBAC star accreditation for its coronavirus cleaning and prevention methods. It is only one of five centers in the nation to receive this certification.

Orlando is a premier travel destination. Because of this, there is an abundance of hotels and resorts, theme parks, and entertainment complexes. These are attractive spots for corporations across the nation to hold their employee functions and parties. All of these venues are required to provide enhanced safety and sanitation protocols, trained staff with appropriate PPE gear, reduced capacity and social distancing floor plans, and safe handling of food and beverages. We only partner with venues who provide posted safety adherence and management plans – safety is our primary concern.

Safety in Live Events is Our Top Priority

In conjunction with the CDC recommendations, we will ensure that the comfort level of all our attendees can be reasonably met while still providing a memorable and unique party that is fun and immersive. Among these new processes will be:

  1. Evaluating risk levels.
  2. Considerations for alternate venues or postponement in high-transmission situations.
  3. Pre-event emergency planning with clients and venue staff to ensure proper cleaning supply levels, capacity limitation and/or social distancing floor plans.
  4. Providing proper ventilation, traffic management, and appropriate messaging during events.
  5. Post-event cleaning and feedback sessions.

We are so excited to see the return of live events and are anxious to help you plan your next function! As explained, safety is a larger priority for the entire industry and you can rely on our responsibility for maintaining these measures. We’d welcome the opportunity to service your next event.
